About Us

The Senior Service Coalition of Lake County represents agencies, senior centers, service providers and legislators who are working at the local, state and federal levels to improve the quality of life for older adults in Northern Illinois.

MISSION

To serve as a facilitator for the coordination and development of services designed to improve the quality of life of older adults residing in Lake County.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

The Senior Service Coalition of Lake County was formed in 1979. Since 1989, the Coalition has been instrumental in the planning of a yearly Legislative Forum which addresses issues pertaining to the senior population of Lake County. Beginning in 1990, the Coalition developed a program format which allows for an intensive study of timely senior and societal issues. Previous areas of study include:

The Senior Service Coalition was recognized by the Northeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging in 1991 for its outstanding efforts.
